Djokovic and Williams Grabs ITF annual Honours

The World number one male and female Tennis player, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have been named 2014 World Champions by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).  According to reports (Reuters)

The annual award takes in performances on the regular Tour and grand slams.

Wimbledon champion Djokovic takes the men's prize for the fourth time having won seven titles this season and the year-end top ranking for the third time in four years.

Williams wins the award for the fifth time in a career which has brought her 18 grand slam singles titles -- the most recent at this year's U.S. Open.

"I'm so honoured to be named ITF World Champion for the fifth time. This was a year of challenges and triumphs, so to win another Grand Slam and retain my year-end No. 1 ranking is an accomplishment I'm very proud of," she said.

"I'm grateful to have the support of the tennis community in every way possible. I can't wait for 2015."

Americans Bob and Mike Bryan were named ITF men's doubles champions while Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci of Italy won the women's honour.

Madrid star Ronaldo admitted Irina’s obsession with his CR7 boxers was ‘funny’. The second time world best player Ronaldo, who launched his range of underwear in October 2013, was posing alongside his model girlfriend for a photoshoot with the fashion magazine.

Uche Glad to Remain with Villarreal by Extending his Contract

Super Eagles Striker Ikechukwu Uche has this morning took to his twitter page to express is happiness for renewing his contract with the submarine club Villarreal until 2017.

He also stated that he will do all his best to help the team achieve success.Uche who has been having issues recently with super eagles coach Stephen keshi concerning not been called up for national duty, it has now been solved when he was called back to the team.

The latter however responded back to the critics by getting a goal in his first match he took part against Guinea, it was a well taken penalty that gave Nigeria life line to qualify for the 2015 AFCON in guinea but they couldn't  progress to the tournament because South Africa drew them in Uyo national Stadium to deny Super eagles of Nigeria ticket after they came third in the group.        

Courtois' The first ever Belgian footballer to be named Sportsman of the Year

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been named Belgian Sportsman of the Year.
The 22-year-old became the first footballer to win the award, which has been running since 1967, after claiming the La Liga title during his loan spell with Atletico Madrid last season.

Former Super Eagles Gaffer Coach Amodu Shuiabu named NFF Technical Director

According to report from Brila Fm' coach Amodu shuiabu was formally announced as the director technical of the nff, he has taken out time to assess the state of the super eagles coach, Stephen keshi, as he revealed that he shares a lot of similarity as keshi, in how they have been unduly treated by the federation, although he is of the opinion that if Keshi has a reputation to uphold, he should forget about the Eagles' job as it would be setting a bad precedence that failure is condoned in Nigerian football.

Also addressing Keshi's contractual talks, president of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick has revealed that Stephen Keshi's contract is not that straight forward, as a lot of correspondence and negotiations have to go into it. He further revealed that the federation is under no pressure to employ Stephen Keshi, if he does not fit into their plan.
