Enyeama wins Nigeria Player of the year 2014

John Obi Mikel- Wins Africa player Award

Chelsea of England and Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi, has won the English Premier League’s African Player of the Month of December.

The Super Eagles’ star was ahead of West Ham’s Cameroonian Alex Song and Southampton striker, Senegalese Sadio Mane in a vote made by the organizers New African Soccer.

“Mikel who has endured a various criticism recently and difficult start to the season, falling down the pecking order in a star-studded Chelsea team that is riding high in the Premier League. After all, we all know that no one likes changing a winning team. However, the spirit of professionalism which he displayed in waiting for his chance, and taking it well with some solid performances in a difficult month, tipped the award for December.”

Gerrard scores twice as Liverpool Beat AFC Wimbledon

 The AFC Wimbledon striker even pleaded with idol Steven Gerrard not to go after there 2:1 lost in the hands of Liverpool, arguing him to still stay with the Merseyside Club.

Gerrard demonstrated the quality and leadership in the team yesterday night after he inspired them to an FA Cup third-round victory at AFC Wimbledon scoring twice after Akinfenwa cancel his first bullet header to equalize for Wimbledon but in the second, the fantastic captain curl in a brilliant free kick to seal the game for the Reds.

Liverpool's captain, who will celebrate his 35th birthday on FA Cup final day on 30May, says after the match that he want to go all the way in FA Cup and his Manager and team has stated that they would be glad to win the trophy for there skipper as a send-forth.

According to BBC report Gerrard, playing his first game since announcing he would depart in the summer to play in the United States, illustrated the hole he will leave behind. The captain has shown a lot of examples in the past and this is another example as he took his Liverpool tally to 182 goals in 696 appearances for the club.

David Moyes and his Boys Downed Barcelona from Taking top Spot in La Liga

Former Manchester United of England Manager David Moyes yesterday night on one of  the greatest nights of his managerial career masterminded a 1-0 victory over Barcelona.

Real Sociedad almost made the most of the stroke of good fortune going down the other end and nearly doubling their lead, According to daily-mail report. Full back Ablberto de la Bella admitted recently that Moyes has been encouraging hm to overlap a la Leighton Baines and the defender flew down the left and crossed for Xabi Prieto who just failed to connect under pressure from Jordi Alba. It was the perfect chance to make it 2:0.
