The newly recruited Atletico Madrid striker Torres has repaid
his manager Diego Simone trust in him with two quick goals each half, against
Real Madrid last night at the Bernabeu.
Elnino got is first goals since returning to his child hood
club, firing his team to a 4-2 Copa Del Rey aggregate win and 2-2 draw of the night over the holders Real
Madrid. Atletico led 2-0 from the first leg and Torres stunned the Bernabeu
fans by smashing in left-footed volley after 46 seconds.
Real Madrid almost did it again just like in the last time
they both team meet in the 2013 Uefa Champions League final, Sergio Ramos
header levelled things up but, in the
first minute of the second half Torres shows how desperate he was to get his
fine form back on track by beating Pepe to slide in the second.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s equalizer in the
late minute, Madrid need three goals to win the game. But the galaticos couldn't get the goals that will proceed them to the last eight.
Atletico Madrid will now face another challenge in the last
eight when they meet Barcelona who came routing by beating Elche 9-0 on
aggregate.
